See Level Tank Monitor Modification

In 2009 Tiffin Motorhomes started using external tank sensors for their tank monitoring system. Unfortunately they still used the 1/3, 2/3, full idiot lights to display the levels. Also after a year the black tank gauge would always show empty. While at a Tiffin RV Owners Network rally in Gulf Shores, AL I bought the See Level Tnk Monitor from Brannon Hutchinson of Custom RV who is out of Vina, AL.
Fresh tank and gray tank sensor mounted on passenger side of motorhome. I used some CAT 5 cable I had left over from my old computer days to connect up the tank sensors. You connect the sensors in parallel, so you only need two wires to connect to all the sensors. I used a single twisted pair of wires to connect up to one wire, that way I made sure I had enough wire capacity and the twisted pairs keeps the interference down when the wires are run next to metal.
Black tank sensor. Kinda hidden behind the fresh water overflow pipe.
The tank sensors connected to the existing wiring on the driver's side of the wet bay. No pictures of that area, because I could barely get my hands uo underneath the piping where the wires were located. I connected the ground from the sensors to the existing ground of the old sensors. I then connected the other wire from the new sensors to the wire that the existing gray tank sensor was using.
I removed the old idiot lights for the tank monitoring system. I then connected the existing 12 volt hot, ground, gray tank sensor wire and the LPG tank sensor to the See Level 709 Tank Monitor. I tested it and everything was ok. I will need to calibrate the LPG tank level the next time I fill up the LPG tank. The instructions on calibration came with the See Level Monitor.
I mounted the See Level Monitor on a piece of wood that would cover the hole the old tank monitoring system left open.
